Technical Tester

Contributing to manual testing:

  • Analyze and refine functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring clarity and feasibility.
  • Identify and suggest enhancements, both functionally and technically.
  • Develop, implement, execute and lead comprehensive test plans for various testing phases, Sanity, Smoke, Integration, Regression, E2E, in different environments: Test, Acceptance.
  • Oversee the entire defect life cycle and manage test case data sets and inputs.

Specializing in SQL database & API testing:

  • Perform and lead database testing using SQL Server or Oracle DB Developer, including SQL queries building and SQL procedures.
  • Manage data workflows using JSON/XML files from source systems.
  • Lead API testing initiatives using tools like Postman, Swagger, Ready API, SOAP UI across different phases and environments.
  • Manage API defect life cycle and collaborate closely with other squads.

Enhancing QA processes, supervision, and reporting:

  • Contribute to the improvement of internal QA processes and methodologies.
  • Regularly report on QA progress to Management, Product and Development teams, and offer support across departments.
  • Produce detailed QA/Test Reports for various teams, ensuring clear communication of findings and progress.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficiency with tools like Ready API, Swagger, Postman, SQL Server/Oracle DB, XML/JSON, Jira/Xray, GIT/Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Cosmos DB.
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Skilled in testing processes, from requirement analysis to test completion report.

Test Automation Skills:

  • Proficiency with tools and Frontend automation Libraries like Playwright.
  • SQL Server/Oracle DB PLSQL for Data validity control
  • API Test automation using Postman, SOAP UI or Ready API
  • Create and execute Jobs for Test automation sets/ Campaigns using Jenkins or Microsoft Azure Suite.

Leadership and Interpersonal Skills:

  • Possess problem-solving skills, a positive attitude, and proactive initiative-taking.
  • Collaborate effectively with both manual and automation testers, bridging gaps between different testing approaches.

Conformity Criteria

Education and experience

  • The candidate holds a Bachelor/ Master’s degree in information technology, or a related field, or can demonstrate equivalent professional experience.
  • The candidate has at least 5 years of proven professional experience as a Technical Tester.

DB and API integration expertise

  • The candidate has at least 2 year of hands-on experience with API integrations (REST, SOAP, authentication, error handling, etc.).
  • The candidate has at least 2 year of hands-on experience with Relational Databases

Language proficiency

  • The candidate should have clear, structured communication skills in English (reading, writing, understanding)
  • The candidate has professional proficiency in at least one of the national languages (French or Dutch).

Availability and work arrangement

  • The candidate confirms availability to work in a hybrid model with at least 2 days onsite per week (currently Tuesday and Thursday but could evolve based on the needs).

Evaluation criteria

  • Ability to analyze and clarify functional and non-functional requirements
  • Capability to identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities
  • Skill in designing structured and comprehensive test plans
  • Accuracy and completeness in test case creation

Manual Testing Expertise

  • Experience executing multiple test types (Sanity, Smoke, Integration, Regression, E2E)
  • Quality and reliability of test results

Defect Management & Quality Control

  • Ability to manage the full defect lifecycle
  • Accuracy and completeness in defect reporting
  • Effectiveness in prioritizing and tracking defects
