Job
Product Lead – Platform & Enablers Solutions Service (SRQ109747)
Location
--Elia Belgium--

Mission description:
Excited to work on a project for a key Belgian player in the energy landscape?
The Belgian and European energy landscape is in full swing. Did you know that Elia Belgium plays a crucial role in this?
As part of Elia Group, a European transmission system operator, Elia Belgium ensures the reliability and sustainability of the electricity supply in our country.
Side-by-side with other Contingent Workers and ELIA staff, you will play a part in building a sustainable, green and reliable energy infrastructure that stimulates economic growth and reduces our ecological footprint.
Only together can we make the biggest impact possible! We believe in the power of diversity: we are convinced that an inclusive and diverse work environment leads to more innovation, creativity and better results.

Service description:
Within Elia, the Platform Energy Solutions (PES) product cluster is responsible for foundational products that make this vision a reality — designing, building and operating solutions that empower internal teams to build high-value products and enable efficient, effective service to Elia’s external clients and partners. More specifically PES delivers trusted, scalable foundations such as client portals, functional platforms for authorisation and access, metering and settlement systems, client and contract repository, customer relationship management system, transparency and reporting platforms.
As a Product Lead at PES, you support the other product clusters to deliver high value and quality products to our clients and partners. You will own one of our product lines — leading its vision, guiding its strategy, and ensuring it delivers real value to our customers and has a measurable impact to Elia and the society.
This role is about making the right choices, aligning teams around what matters most, and building the conditions for our product teams to thrive. You will report to the Product Director, working alongside other Product Leads and Chapter Leads (design, data, engineering, ...) to set the direction for Elia's product portfolio.
You will work on very crucial topics, at the heart of the challenges linked to the energy transition: evolution of energy markets to unlock flexibility and the timely connection of the new production units and new consumption centers.

Your Mission

You are responsible for the strategic success of your product line — ensuring we solve the right problems for our customers/partners and society and deliver business outcomes for Elia. Concretely, this means:

  • Ensuring your product line has a clear, insight-driven strategy and a roadmap aligned with PES and Elia strategy
  • Empowering product teams to work on the most valuable problems, with the context, autonomy, and support they need
  • Acting as the strategic bridge between product teams, internal stakeholders and senior leadership — making sure everyone is aligned and informed

What You'll Do

Strategy

  • Define and continuously refine the product line vision and strategy in alignment with PES strategy
  • Translate Elia's strategic priorities (Robustness, Product Evolution & Efficiency, Consumer Intimacy, Flexibility & Data Services) into clear product bets

Execution

  • Lead the key ceremonies for your product line: product weeklies, roadmap reviews, insights reviews, and stakeholder touchpoints
  • Enable continuous discovery and delivery — ensuring teams talk regularly to customers, run structured experiments, and remove blockers
  • Represent the product line to senior leadership; serve as the primary point of escalation for product decisions
  • Foster alignment with departments in charge of operations, to capture their needs and to enable a feedback loop from actual operations, to ensure that the solutions of your line are continuously improved
  • Ensure close alignment with the key account managers of the Customers department to leverage their knowledge of our clients to shape the priorities and the design of the solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with other Product Leads to manage cross-product-lines dependencies and maintain portfolio coherence

People & Governance

  • Coach and develop your Product Managers and Product Owners across the six core competencies: Strategy, Discovery, Delivery, Marketing, Analytics, and Leadership
  • Define clear roles, responsibilities, and development plans for your product team
  • Foster a culture of discovery, evidence-based decision-making, and outcome-focused delivery
  • Set measurable KPIs for product success and team performance; act as the ultimate accountable owner for your product line's budget and performance metrics
  • Ensure effective product governance across the full lifecycle — from innovation and discovery through to in-life management and retirement

External stakeholder engagement

  • You are leading the stakeholder engagement for the products developed in your product line
  • You set the agenda and the content of the engagement with our clients and partners, to support the development of your solutions
  • You engage and align with the regulators at federal and regional level, and align with them on priorities and the design of the solutions

Requirements:

  • Product management :
5+ years of product management experience, with a proven track record at a senior or lead level
Strong experience owning a product line or segment end-to-end ideally in an energy, utility, or regulated infrastructure context
Ability to define and communicate a compelling product vision and translate it into an insight-driven, customer-focused strategy
Experience managing a portfolio of products and making prioritisation decisions based on business value, customer impact, and feasibility
Strong analytical and data-driven approach — comfortable setting OKRs, tracking product KPIs, and making decisions grounded in evidence
Fluency in agile product operating models; experience working in multi-disciplinary teams (Product, Engineering, Design, Data)
  • Leadership and communication
Excellent stakeholder management skills — able to navigate complex landscapes including key account managers, operations teams, and executive leadership
A coaching mindset: you build maturity in the people around you, not just the product
High emotional intelligence; able to resolve conflicts, build trust, and align teams through influence rather than authority
  • Content knowledge
Knowledge of energy market structures, grid operations, or flexibility services
Experience with market design for regulated product environments
  • Good level of Dutch and/or French and English is required.

Additional information:

  • Onsite presence: By default, a physical presence on site is required for 2 days per week.
  • Work regime: 100%

There’s something electric in the air with this this mission!

What makes this mission attractive?

  • An interesting project at the reference within the energy sector: Elia encourages innovation and collaboration. Within our company you will be at the forefront of the energy transition, and you will have the chance to contribute to ground-breaking technologies designed to accelerate this transition. It is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to demonstrate your skills and develop further your competences within this project.
  • Focus on well-being at work: we put maximum effort into a positive work culture in which your well-being is central.
  • A diverse team of co-workers: Elia puts a high value on diversity and inclusion. You will join a diverse and passionate team that enjoys sharing knowledge and leading the way towards a more sustainable future together.

We are convinced that your contribution to our team will be invaluable and look forward to welcoming you soon!
