HRIS Data Migration Specialist

We are seeking a skilled HRIS Data Migration Specialist to lead the end-to-end migration of HR data from SAP R/3 HCM (PA/OM/Time/PY) to SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central and S/4HANA Time. This role is critical to ensuring data integrity, compliance, and operational continuity during the HRIS transformation roadmap from Success.

Key Responsibilities

Migration Planning & Strategy

  • Define and document the data migration strategy & plan aligned with the SF EC and S/4HANA HCM rollout.
  • Establish data selection principles (what moves vs. what is archived/destroyed), aligned with legal, regulatory, works council, information security, and GDPR requirements.
  • Develop the data object inventory and field-level mapping specifications
  • Define archiving and defensible data destruction approaches for out-of-scope or redundant data, with audit trails and approvals.
  • Set up governance: RACI, decision rights, issue/risk management, status reporting, and executive-ready progress dashboards
  • Collaborate with HR & IT and business stakeholders to define scope, timelines, and dependencies.

Data Discovery & Mapping

  • Inventory source systems (SAP ECC HCM and non-SAP), objects, infotypes, tables, and custom fields; determine target structures in SuccessFactors (e.g., Employee Central, Recruiting, Onboarding) and S/4HANA (e.g., Finance-related HR data, HCM compatibility or integrations as applicable).
  • Lead the data mapping and transformation logic definition, including value mapping, code translations, derived fields, joins, historical vs. current snapshots, and effective-dating.
  • Produce mapping specifications and governed transformation rules (with version control) for all in-scope data sets.

Data Extraction, Transformation & Loading (ETL)

  • Use data conversion tools, such as Spenifex, Data Conversion Manager or other to setup the data mapping, data comparison and load the data from the source to target systems.
  • Build repeatable, parameterized ETL/ELT pipelines for extract, cleanse, transform, and load.
  • Extract legacy data from SAP R/3 HCM modules (PA, OM, Time, Payroll).
  • Cleanse, transform, and map data to SuccessFactors EC and S/4HANA HCM structures.
  • Use SAP Business Integration Builder (BIB), SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) and data migration tools for replication and transformation.
  • Implement data quality rules, exception handling, logging, and reconciliation checks (e.g., counts/balances, hash totals, key field completeness).

Mock Loads & Data Quality Uplift

  • Plan and run multiple mock loads (e.g., ML1–ML3) across environments; track defects, root causes, and trend improvements.
  • Drive data cleansing at source (with HR data owners) and within transformation layers; establish golden source decisions and survivorship rules for consolidated records.
  • Produce data quality scorecards and measurable KPIs (completeness, validity, uniqueness, consistency, timeliness).
  • Manage cutover dry-runs, timing simulations, and performance tuning for load windows.

Testing & Controls

  • Define and execute E2E testing for migration objects: unit tests, SIT, UAT support, and parallel run/payroll impact checks where relevant.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and parallel runs to ensure data accuracy
  • Implement reconciliation and sign-off controls with business owners: pre-/post-load controls, sampled record validation, and audit evidence.
  • Ensure privacy-by-design and security-by-design throughout (masking in non-prod, least-privilege access, retention rules).

Cutover & Hypercare

  • Build and execute the Cutover Plan for go-live, including freeze windows, sequencing, runbook, roles, checkpoints, back-out criteria, and communications.
  • Orchestrate go-live weekend activities, triage, and rapid defect resolution with functional and technical teams.
  • Deliver hypercare reconciliation, issue remediation, and handover to operations/support with documentation and knowledge transfer

Documentation & Governance

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of mappings, transformation logic, and data lineage.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and internal data governance policies

CONFORMITY CRITERIA

  • 7+ years in data migration (at least 3+ in HR data), delivering complex, multi-system migrations at enterprise scale.
  • Proven experience in SAP HCM data migration projects, especially involving SF EC and S/4HANA.
  • Proven hands-on expertise with data migration tools (eg. Infoporter, Spinifex, DCM), SAP BIB, CPI, IDoc, and OData services.
  • SAP Certification in SuccessFactors EC and/or SAP Integration Suite.
  • Experience in hybrid SAP HCM landscapes and phased rollouts
  • You can express yourself fluently in Dutch, French and English (minimum B2 for all 3)
  • Min 3 days per week onsite

EVALUATION CRITERIA

  • Knowledge of HR master data, organizational structures, and payroll-relevant data.
  • Knowledge of data mapping and transformation logic and techniques
  • Knowledge of SAP ECC HCM (e.g., PA/OM, Time, Payroll, Benefits) and data structures (infotypes, clusters), plus exposure to custom Z-tables.
  • Knowledge of SuccessFactors EC Datamodel, Object Types and data structures
  • Problem-solving capabilities
